I want everyone to remember something.....

In 2011, we were playing UVA in the bowl game and he had accepted the ASU job. He insisted on coaching his last game for us as offensive coordinator. There's not one guy in twenty that would have done that knowing he had a head coaching job and would probably never look back.

I know he can coach offense. I know his heart is in our program... those two things give him a chance. Let's see what he can do about building a staff. Everybody do three things........

1. Take a deep cleansing breath. It feels pretty good, just did it myself.

2. Turn the tv and talk radio off. No hire at AU is ever right, good enough or anything else. Didn't matter who we hired... the words would have been the same. Let 'em talk. We cant stop them from talking but we can damn sure stop ourselves from listening.

3. Let's just see how he does. We know he has something to hang his hat on. Let's see if he can build our program the way we want it. Climb off that ledge and lets just see how he does. He might just surprise you.

I'll say this for Gus, his record as a head coach was light years ahead of chizik's when we hired him.
