Actually, former Auburn golfer John Huston won the Southern Farm Bureau Classic in 2003.

John actually won 7 tournaments in his career on tour. He came close in a couple of majors including a third place finish at the masters. Now that Duff has the monkey off his back, hopefully he can get that first major.

Indont really count John Huston because he wasn't here but one or two quarters. He was just passing through. Jason played his full time at Auburn and is an Auburn Man, can't say the same for John. Not even sure he has ever come back around here.

Not to be argumentive cause I get your pt, but if you (not you but many in the AU family) are going to count Jimmy Buffet as an Auburn guy then I think it's fair to count J Houston.

Having spent time on the golf team with John Huston, I'd say he enjoyed his time at Auburn (perhaps too much!) and is a fan. He didn't stay long because of his grade situation; his own responsibility of course.
I'd always call John an Auburn guy just as I would many others who did not graduate from here.
Jason is an alum however (2000-Economics). This gives him a special honor which is his alone: The only Auburn graduate to win on the PGA Tour. Well done, Jason. A reminder too, that he was originally a walk-on.

War Eagle to Jason for a great victory. Excellence in any sport is always, and unfairly at times in certain sports, measured by championships. He has been knocking on the door and his perseverance has paid off. I know the championship is big but 1.15 million is nothing to sneeze at either.

Congratulations to Jason, I have been following him ever since he got back on the PGA tour and couldn't be more proud. I was in Chapel Hill, NC at the Carolina Inn cheering him on when he barely lost a tournament several years ago. He has the demeanor it takes and the game to compete and win for several more years.
