Does prior HC experience matter

For those who think it is no problem to hire someone without HC experience consider this...
1. The last 11 national champions were coached by a HC who had previous HC experience.
2. 16 of 21 SEC champions were coached by a HC who had prior HC experience.
To say it does not matter is simply not an informed statement!
