Finescum also admitted today that there is no investigation going on at Auburn. Apparently his callers got into him pretty good causing him to fess up. Do what I do and don't listen to the guy. I've been a happier person ever since I stopped.

Nobody said USC got the death penalty. Someone did say that USC was the only program they knew of that was eligible for the death penalty if any violations were found. But combining the fact that Auburn can't be given the death penalty according to the NCAA and the fact that I agree with you that there is no way the NCAA will give out the death penalty again, I think its safe to say it wont be happening to us. On top of that I don't think we have done anything that would be an NCAA violation anyway. Though the Bammers whose program is on probation currently sure want to claim we did something wrong.

As for whether or not the NCAA will hand down that punishment. I actually think they would (I know I'm in the minority on this one). But if a school was to be found guilty of that punishment, I don't think the NCAA would have any other choice but to hand it down. They know that if they didn't follow their own rules that it would be the fall of their empire. There would be a never ending battle with the media and every other school. As soon as they didn't follow their own rule neither will every school who is suppose to, so I think they wouldn't have a choice but to punish the school recieving it.

it sounds to me that the bammers are casting their paranoia on us and are scared that chizik and jacobs have created a clean successful program and know that their cheating practices are either not working or are going to have to hit dangerously close levels of being caught to regain control of the sec and the state. i just hope auburn keeps the positive attitude and sticks to their game plan instead of chasing and competing with cross state rivals.

As an AU grad, an Auburn resident, and someone who loves Auburn, it is difficult for me to listen to Finebaum's show. But I believe Paul provides a public service. Many Alabama fans are obviously having a terrible time dealing with the fact that their return to football glory was so short-lived. And to top that off, Auburn is the reigning national champion! Without Paul's show and the opportunity to bash Auburn and fantasize about Auburn being blown up by the NCAA and the FBI, just imagine how some Alabama fans would deal with their frustration and crushed egos!

I resent Paul's redneck callers saying such awful things about Auburn to a "national" audience, but really, outside of Alabama and his devoted Tide listeners, just how relevant is Paul and his show? He didn't influence the NCAA and get Cam declared ineligible for the Alabama game. He didn't influence poll voters to deny Auburn it's rightful place in the BCS Championship game. He's not influenced prominent football recruits to shy away from Auburn. I personally think he's on Saban's payroll, and it's not working:)

What exactly is your point? I'm not the one who brought up the USC thing buddy, just corrected someone's misguided post.
