It probably has to do with the old story regarding loans with Colonial Bank and dummy ATM cards for players and their families. A Bammer friend sent me a message this morning that said the NCAA is going throughout GA and AL interviewing the alleged families about the loans and that this was going to bring down Auburn and that the death penalty was a "very real possiblity." I replied and asked him how many times they were going to try and spin the same old rumors? I also pointed out how coincidential the timing of this so-called "new" story was since Signing Day is 2 days away. I then asked why the Bammers are so intent on Auburn's supposed downfall when they should be focusing on a possible #1 recruiting class and getting ready for this season. Not surpisingly, I've received no response. And that's the way I like it!!

How can there be any death penalty? The death penalty is rule for schools who are repeat violators within a 5 year period. The last time we got caught paying players was 1991??? (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm pretty sure the only school eligible (if caught) with the death penalty is USC. Next time you hear someone associate AU with the death penalty you can tell them there are full sh@^

I have been told that our NCAA compliance officer is an ex-FBI agent who also worked for the NCAA before coming to Auburn. If this is true, he knows his stuff around both agencies that are supposedly trying to bring us down.

My guess (completely uninformed by the way) is that since Jackson was around them through the practices - Jackson should then be considered a coach.

There are rules about how many coaches and staff you can bring with you and have on the pay roll.

Now - logic would tell you that, just like Jay Jacobs, Mr. Jackson could go anywhere he damn well pleases as the Associate Athletic Director... .

But who cares about logic - the Turds and F-bomb are probably trying to drill down on a minor detail to make themselves feel better about AU crushing them.

I think of this like the way they were all up in arms because the NCAA rule stated that a person had "to receive" money... but since Cecil only asked for money there was no crime.

I was listening a few minutes ago to slimescum. Some guy, Joe from auburn I think, really ripped in to Paul. Called him everything in the book. I think it stung Paul a bit. The guy never raised his voice, but really said the things we alll say here. Paul was speechless. I still can't get past when we hired cgc, finebaum went on the show outside the lines and made the statement why would any recruit sign with au. He has his sources at a lot of colleges,but I have no respect for him.
