Do we need a back or d- tackles?

  • I think that we are good at RB . Dyer and McCaleb are solid. McCaleb is getting stronger and more durable. I am excited to see big Ladarious at RB I think that 3rd down and 3 is in good hands. Eric Smith is a good back and he is also explosive and very good at impact. Smith reminds of my boy Heath Evans with a mean streak.

On the defensive side the defensive tackle rotation is in need with the loss of Clayton,Fairely, and Blanc. Next year there is Whitaker who played really good in the BCS game. Who else is their? We need Somebody from JC or a good sized recruit
that can play right off the bus.

Both. Getting two more defensive tackles and one more running back are the biggest priorities left in this class.

  • Yes we do have McCaleb / Dyer with Calloway coming in....BUT...What if one goes down with an injury....AND wasn't Smith a senior?....Being a running back in the SEC can be BRUTAL because of the feirceness of the defenses in even the lower tier teams in this league....WE NEED BOTH!

If you have to ask why I love Auburn so much...never mind

  • I really do not think we need another tight end in this class. We have Lutz for two more years, Dakota Moseley, and incoming freshman C. J. Uzomah, who I think could be a great tight end/H back. He will be a super player for Auburn in the future.

Smith is a Junior this year.

From everything I've heard, Fulse is simply THAT GOOD. He has, from what I've read, quite a bit more potential than Lutz (though not better dance moves). And Uzomah is looking at both WR and Wildcat QB (splitting time). I think having 3 tight ends is perfectly fine (Lutz, Mosley, and Fulse). And if you can add someone with Fulse's talent, you don't turn them away.

exactly. You take the talent and we may end up moving some people around because they are so good to just get them on the field. That is a good problem to have though.

i'm excited about uzomah. i think he's going to be huge for us. he seems intelligent, big, played qb some in highschool, and all in for auburn.

  • Keep in mind that Fulse is not just a potential tight end / H back, he is also an athletic BIG body who could grow into other positions on the field. Think of Jay Ratliff or Karlos Dansby, both ultra-athletic guys who came in as receivers and grew into dominant defensive players. I think Fulse (or current player Ladarious Phillips) fits that mold.

  • I was really looking forward to seeing Lad Phillips at RB but i don't think that will happen... he will most likely be moved to defense.. I would like to see us pick up a great RB in this class that can come in and play right away but we need help on the DL too.. coaches seem to be doing a good job of spreading around what we need with what we can offer...

I would love to see Phillips move to DT. Anyone that's close to 3 spins on the scale and can move like a running back has a chance to be special on the d-line. I mean, there's no way to know for sure if he would be successful, but one thing that sets SEC lineman apart is their combination of speed (quickness) and size.

Phillips sure seems like he has that combo. I'd love to see them challenge him to be the next Fairley. If he has that aggressive mean-streak, he could probably do it.

  • I wonder if the staff misses Dontea Adycox (tampa kid)? Wonder what ever happened to him football wise?

Agree. The only drawback is his height....listed as 6'. Also, would probably need to gain a little weight...question is ...what would that do to his speed and quickness????
