There is no way this is true. #1, why would Chizik and Jacobs wait to announce this? There is no chance in hell they would let the process drag on till mid-January after the BCSCG. Not everyone agrees on who we will hire, but nearly everyone does agree that it will be announced within the next week. Most likely in the coming days after our game. If it were Cooper they would've already announced it. It accomplishes nothing to wait until next week to announce his hiring since LSU still won't have played in their game. He's their secondary coach, not the DC... there's no reason to put off the announcement and we aren't in the business of helping LSU anyways. The timing just doesn't make sense. Secondly, although I'm sure Cooper is a candidate I just don't see Chizik hiring a recruiter who doesn't have much experience as a DC. That wouldn't go over very well with the alumni/fans.

Just my opinion, but your guy is wrong.
