How much u guys think the defense will improve next year? Me personally think the defense will improve tremendously( top 30 at least ) with all the young talent that had significant playing last year there only have room to get better especially from an ex nfl dc at the helm
If its at least top 30 I would be estatic. The one thing we seriously need is the D Line to beef up and constantly get in the backfield. If that happens, everything else will vastly improve.
I've Jus always thought ted roof was horrible , I was dumbfounded when au hired him, our current dc is a BIG BOY coach , the next game au played ( vs Virginia ) after roof got booted the defense played real solid
Well hell they can't become worst.
The Georgia fans who I know guarantee that Auburn will have a tougher defense.
This is what it looks like when a man makes heaven
come out of his six string
Awesome post...in so many ways.
Has anybody heard anything on any other assistants who might be leaving or any coming in?
This defense will be considerably better for many reasons:
1. BVG is one of the best defensive minds in all of football. He will demand excellence from his players and scheme to their strengths.
2. We will not be playing a bunch of true freshmen at DT and in the secondary. We will have a situation where we have juniors and seniors who are talented and experienced combined with some seriously talented and, now, experienced sophomores. They will know the routine when we go on the road and be acclimated to being in college.
3. I expect our offense to not only be better than last year but be more defense friendly. I think the days of us having to defend 80-90 plays per game are over. That alone will improve our defense.
4. Even year. Our schedule, although still brutal, won't be quite as testy as last year.
5. I'm always right.
Hopefully CVG will teach tackling fundamentals, as opposed to roof
