"Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." Teddy Roosevelt
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
No war is over until the enemy says it's over. We may think it's over, we may say it's over, but the enemy gets a vote. - Gen. James Mattis
I want him back! Too much talent to just give up on him, if in fact he really wants to return and play QB at AU. He just made the climb up steeper, but he can still achieve it if he devotes himself to being a great student-athlete and ambassador for Auburn.
I definitely want to see Zeke back at Auburn. His upside is huge.
ALL IN MEANS ALL IN !
If the coaches still have him on the roster; I'm pulling for him. Every FAMILY has problems every once in a while. That alone doesn't justify being kicked out of the family. The minute the coaches announce a player is no longer a part of the team is the time when we should move on, but until that happens, we should be pulling for ALL members of THE FAMILY ! I trust the coaches will do what's best for the good of Auburn Football, and I hope Zeke gets everything headed in the right direction for not only Auburn, but also for ZEKE !
Whether he comes back or not, we won't know for a while. I do know that if a young man, even if in trouble, is decides to commit himself to working hard to turn things around, then this coaching staff and "family" are the ones to do it. Unfortunately, we've seen a few in recent months who elected not to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. But more importantly, we've seen many more who have taken advantage of the same opportunity and have left with college degrees and a foundation for becoming better men, sons, fathers, brothers, etc.
At this point, Zeke will need to demonstrate better maturity, leadership and decision-making skills than he's shown to date because like all of us, the decisions and choices we make just don't impact us--they often impact others including ones who care for us.
Regardless of where he ends up, I hope he is able to turn things around.
As for Auburn, we'll be just fine either way. I just respect our Auburn coaches. I cannot imagine having my livelihood dependent in large part on the decisions and choices 17-19 year old boys.
P.S. As an aside, who else was recruiting Zeke heavily and had offered?
WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
Per Scout all below had offered him:
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
Thanks for the info!
It's an impressive offer list. .

Have I made myself clear? I am not saying he has not had more than his fair share of youthful screw-ups, but many here have this crucify him mentality without one sense of even handedness. I know of a young under aged player who everyone has gone Gaga Gaga over who was blistered himself and in the same lounge with a few others (including Zeke). If he had been busted for the same offense that evening, I believe many here would sing a different tune.
I was 18, away from home for the first time, playing football, and having fun in the Summer Time and DRINKING to my new found maturity. I was taking on life like a teenager makes love. A whole lot of enthusiasm, but very little control. I was lucky then as were other players. So you see I say please lighten up just a little and encourage Zeke Pike. He has a whole lot of talent and is very mobile for a big guy. Wallace is quick, but I see Zeke better in the pocket should we need him next season.
