We all knew the Bama lovefest would continue to manifest, but AU staff not even in the top 10?!?!? I mean, it makes sense that USCe gets the nod over AU since they've had so much success, right?. Give me a break!!
From Yahoo! Sports: The SEC has three of the top 10 staffs, and the Big Ten and Big 12 have two each.
I'd have to agree with these. We crack the list with a double digit win season this year.
War Damn and God Bless - Lutzie43
The list doesn't look odd to me either. Do we expect another staff to be #1? They have won two national titles in the last 3 years, went 22-5 in the two "down" years before each title. They have sent 20 players to the NFL since the 2010 draft (most in the nation). Who exactly should be number one if it's not them?
On the other hand, our staff has gone 8-5 twice and had a magical season in between. Right or wrong, until we win some games without the greatest player of all time playing for us, the staff won't get the recognition they deserve. And be honest....if we keep winning 8 games per year....will any of us still think so highly of them?
PS. I don't think for one second we'll keep winning 8 games beyond this year....but so far, for a list being made in 2012, that's all we have to go on.
I understand the points made, but it irritates me to see the spurrier staff get so much credit when they haven't won anything....not even a conference championship. They won the east once. Our AU staff has exceeded expectations in both recruiting and winning games each season thus far...and we won a NC. I get it that some people want to put an * on our NC bc of Cam, but our staff is the one the recruited and coached him while he was here.
I know Carolina has had trouble with us, but you have to remember where that staff is. They won 9 games two years ago....for the FOURTH time in school history. Then they won 11 games last year. So I understand where you're coming from, but big picture, they have revolutionized the South Carolina program. Five years ago they don't make the final 5 for guys like Lattimore and Clowney.
Grammar: The difference between knowing your sh*t and knowing you're sh*t.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
I believe it was back in 2000 when South Carolina rushed the field after they beat New Mexico State......That program has come from rushing the field after beating a piss poor team because they hadn't won in two years to being a legitimate threat to any team. You can sit there and say that was Lou Holtz doing, but everyone knows it has been Spurrier and his staff that has taken a .500 team to a 10+ win team (They will win 10+ this year as well..).
Just because of personal disdain for Spurrier doesn't meanh he isn't a good coach. The man is a genius when it comes to football and has built South Carolina into a great, winning program. No, they haven't won an SEC Championship and certainly not a National Championship, but they have built that program up to something out of the shadowy depths that the program was once in.
Auburn owns South Carolina, yes. Actually, South Carolina hasn't beaten Auburn since 1933, but you can't make a comparison about which coaching staff has done more with their program because of head to head match ups.
All of this being said, I like our coaching staff and I think we are heading in the right direction. Recruiting would certainly seems to point in that direction, as long as we can keep the players on the team.

While I must admit our staff probably isn't yet in a position to make a list such as this (it was a different staff that won the 2010 BCS Championship), I certainly don't understand some of the others.
The USCe staff has done a great job for one reason and one reason only.... the abject weakness of the rest of the SEC East. Florida....gone. Tennessee....gone. UGA....asleep until the last few games of the season. Add to that their record against the West during this period of time. Since 2007, 0-3 against Auburn, 0-2 against LSU, 1-1 against Alabama, 1-4 against Arkansas. That's 2-10 against schools without Mississippi in their names. They won an SEC East title and got absolutely and embarrassingly crushed in the championship game. That's it.
The staff at Ohio State has yet to coach a game. Not ONE. Yet they are ranked #6 in the nation by this clown?
Texas? TEXAS? The team that went into the BCS Championship game in 2009 with only one QB on the roster than had ever taken a snap? The team that lost 7 games the next year and 5 the next?
Virginia Tech? Is this the same VaTech staff that lost to James Madison, Boise State, and East Carolina? Or it this a different VT?
Total and complete joke.
While I wouldn't trade our staff for any school in the country, I understand that we are going to have to WIN consistently to get the kind of press from the national folks. I love our staff for not only what they do on the field and the way they have recruited but also for the atmosphere and environment they have created.
