If bobby petrino had been hired?
Yep, a house divided....BEAT BAMA!!!!!!
..........BEAT BAMA .................BEAT BAMA..................BEAT BAMA
Our swag deficiency would be even greater.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
Nope. Auburn people would get behind whoever. It might have taken longer, but people would have eventually jumped off the moral horse and gotten behind Bobby Petrino. Half the people on here were very against Gus coming in (including me) and now they are all behind him (including me). That whole house divided thing is bs...really.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...

Oh and by the way.....

Yep. We would not have been able to attract the staff we currently have to work for BP. A lot of people, including myself, would not want to work for him. Been there and done that with bosses like him and it makes coming to work everyday a nightmare. Not that you cannot be successful being an _ hole like he is, you can, but catches up with them eventually. The recruiting class, particularly on the defensive side of the ball would probably have been pitiful as well since BP is/was not known as a good recruiter or one much interested in defense.
Speculation of course, but IMO Rodney, Dameyune, Harbiison, etc. would probably not be at Auburn.
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
Cola, my boy, this is the problem with people who don't understand boundaries. No offense, but YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. Very few, if any, against bp would have ever gotten behind him. Just wanted to share my thoughts. I will let you get back to your "art" now.
No. That's just your opinion. And you were always against Bobby. If he had come in and manned up to his mistakes and done things the right way, he would slowly yet surely be accepted. All the high horse whiners would die down as soon as he started winning.
Then all of you haters would have said "Well look at there! Auburn can change anyone! He's a true Auburn man! " ....Don't tell me I'm wrong because you know I'm right and that's bulls*** that people would stop supporting the program. There were tons against Gus too, now look. Ok then. Holla.
Why So Serious?
For starters, I wouldn't be here. Also, the thought that all Auburn fans will somehow come together to support that piece of garbage is incorrect. The program would have lost any direct support I would have otherwise given.

Like it or not Cola, AU would be a circus (both on this board and nationally) now if BP had been hired. He may have been the best coach, but if AU had hired him at this time I do not think it would have worked at all. Now, if Gus has a run or does not have a run and we are looking for a coach a few years down the road, and BP keeps himself straight, and his offensive skills continue, I think he is one we would have near the top of the list. Timing is a big thing and the time was not now at AU for BP
