Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
Meh. At least he didn't go all Bo Pelini on it. I didn't really find all that much wrong with what he said. He was probably just trying to lessen the heat from the fans and what not.
Andersen on Jay Boulware leaving: "It's my fault. I hired the wrong guy. ... I don't like the situation that we're in here at all." #Badgers
Could've said worse.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Wisconsin is notorius for not paying asst coaches much. That was one of Bielemna's reasons for leaving for Arky. It was hard for him to keep a staff when he could not give them a pay raise.

Bottom line is that you are in the Big Leagues now Anderson. It happens. He hired the best available guy for the job when he hired Boulware. The best guy available and that guy being the right fit for Wisconsin may not be the same. Then again, if Boulware could have forseen the Oklahoma opportunity i'm sure he would have never taken the Wisconsin job in the first place. Madison, Wisc is beautiful, clean, safe, and all that jazz but damn its COLD,
Perhaps a, "Coach Boulware decided to pursue a life long dream of returning home to coach at his alma matter. We wish him good health and success in his future endeavours" may have been a tad more appropriate. There is never a reason for a coach to not take the high road in this situation. What is said speaks more about the speaker than the subject of the statement.
"So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."... Rev. 3:16
I agree that sometimes it would be nice for folks to just keep their word. Actually he's not returning to his alma matter, he played for Texas. We can't expect high school kids to feel like they have to honor their word when the coaches can't do it.
Except Boulware graduated from Texas....OU's rival.
My apologies. He's from this area, I heard and I must have assumed he went to OU.
Performance stands out like a ton of diamonds. Nonperformance can always be explained away.
It's a new day in Auburn football!
