I was ecstatic to get this kid and I'm glad he's slated as the go to guy behind Omac. I keep seeing posters all over this board dis him saying he hasn't proved anything and completely over look him. He had a good game against UVA when he was given more than one or two carries and he looked a little small last year but has since put on serious strength and weight. Give the guy his props he has worked hard and I expect him to have a great year and quite possibly put himself in a position to lock down the starting spot next year.
It's called the 'grass is always greener' syndrome.

How has Lacey been given the golden thrown around your program? What's he done on the field?
He played last year and looked good when he was given opportunity.
He did look good on the 28 carries that he had, but he needs to do it over the course of the season not just a game or two.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
I see allot of Kenny Irons in him, really hard worker and great heart. He could join Lattimore as All-SEC IMO if our Oline grows up and takes care of business.
Hope Mason can stay healthy and be the back we all hope. I have liked him a lot since he arrived on campus and think he really worked his tail off this off season.
I don't get to read everybody's posts, but I have not gotten the idea that a lot of members were dissing TM. A kick return for a TD and a spark every time he had an opportunity impressed me. IMHO he should have played more.
Several are posting that they've missed the negative comments so to clarify I've seen posts all over here and other boards about Blakely this and Grant that and even talk about Omac (which he's earned at this point) but never much talk about Tre. I feel like most saw how quick he was and immediately categorized him as a scat back despite his strength and now obvious determination to get even more prepared to take it between the tackles. He was ranked the 10th overall RB coming out of HS iirc and people are saying even in this thread he was not a can't miss player. Is this how everyone will feel about Wilkins? They have roughly the same rating. Mark my words, barring injury Mason will play on sundays.
