Many have posted that Gus was the primary reason for the National Championship and CAM coming to AU (even though he didn't recruit him). SO I am curious why his name is not being mentioned for a replacement. Bring Gus back as head coach, he keeps BVG and allows BVG to run the D with his coaches and Gus brings Lashlie, Burns and his other offensive staff for instant turn around.
He's the primary reason we have no qb today. No thanks.
Gus is the one that talked Chizik into letting us recruit him. If you had read Chizik's book, you would know that.
Gus is not a proven head coach at any level. The only Ark St game that I have watched he got blown out extremely badly
I don't post often from Omaha but I believe Gus would be good. Chip Kelly has no head coaching experience and is not doing too bad. Chiznik's head coaching experience certainly has paid off(?) Gus gave us a chance in every game in in '09 until Todd's shoulder went. Anybody wonder who made the decision in the '09 Iron Bowl to get conservative on offense and let bama come back? How things might have changed right then... Look at Clemson and Ole Miss today. Gus disciples give them a chance in every game. You read the complaints by Saban after the Ole Miss game.
Gus is a winner! Gus is exciting! Gus plus CVG and the talent on this team is success!
War Eagle Folks
Thats just not true. Kiehl Frazier could have accepted a scholarship from virtually any program in the country that was recruiting a QB and ran a HUNH spread focus offense. Gus is also the primary reason Cam was here and was succesful. We can't have it both ways.
This is a dumb answer.
What was he looking for in a QB? A pro-style QB or a 3 time All American HS QB who ran his offense since jr high school.
If you think having an offense that average 36 points per game;
turning around the offense in 2009 with Chris Todd; and,
running an offense that Cam Newton wanted to play for are not not BETTER reasons to consider GM than this boneheaded reason you just laid out, then please don't bother to comment at all.
We need winners to apply. Not losers.
