Mid 1960's Au v Miss State at Homecoming. I was about 8 or 9.
Haley center was built yet, nor the East End Zone of the stadium. A few students would sit on the hill between the entrance level and the field level and watch the game for free. There were wooden bleachers beyond the end zone.
After the game my father took me onto the field. Shug was leaving and was surrounded by fans asking for autographs. He politely declined. My father says "You can't no to a boy". Shug looked at me, paused ang signed my father ticket. Then continued to the locker room.
10 years later in joined the same fraternity and chapter as brother Jordan.

My freshman year ... Pat Dye's freshman year ... and the beginning of the 30 best years of my life!
Looking forward to the next 30, War Eagle!
The "barn burner," or "night the barn burned," against LSU in 1996 was my first game. I can remember being so worried that the stadium looked like it was on fire--a huge one at that, and thinking we'll be lucky to get out of here with 87,000+ fans stampeding. Since the fire turned out to be across the street, what was worse at the time, was having the two-point conversion intercepted and returned to give LSU a 19-15 lead after we had finally come back with a late touchdown.

1996, Robert Baker ran back a punt for a touchdown against South Carolina. We won in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter, I was hooked!
The September 18th 1965 Baylor game we lost 14-8 mentioned earlier as 1966. I was a senior in High School form Goodwater. The family had tickets to the game. My brother staarted at Auburn in 1961 and parents started going to every home game and most in Birmingham i.e GT, Tenn and Alabama.
