I dreamed/dreamt the other night that we lost close games to both Clemson and Mississippi State, both on the road...
We were preparing for LSU as a heavy underdog. Will our fans be understanding or will this be a major setback with recruiting and the program in general?
Most people outside Auburn are predicting losses to both of those teams. It could happen. 1 and 3.
I have to say that I will personally be shocked and will inevitably question the true progress of the program. (inwardly)
I have been a huge fan of Auburn through the nine straight losses to Bama and the other bad years. The only thing we could do is grin and bear it.
Attitude is Everything
Disappointed would be an understatement for me
I would be very pissed and question the player development/game planning abilities of our staff.
There would definatly be some questions asked? Clemson has some great players and its usually a good game but Mrs state that game is a game we should never ever lose. We have 100 times more talent i would definatly be mad as hell.
I think we'll all be surprised & disappointed but the attitude of our fan base will depend in large part on how/why we lose those games as well as the remaining performance of those we may lose to.
Injuries are big factor... we'll see but I feel confident in saying we'll be undefeated when LSU comes to JHS.
I'm sure I will get dinged for even asking that question, but my dream sure did feel real (its bad enough that I even dream about that stuff).
We drink the kool-aid so much and the natural approach for all fans (except Duke, Vandy, KY, etc) is to expect the best.
In 1985 Auburn was ranked number 1 and lost to UT. That was one of the hardest losses I've ever experienced. Wasn't Willie Gault the culprit?
Then came the Florida Kerwin Bell incident, and the LSU earthquake game. Both really hurt.
So with the photos that you have posted, you are dreaming about football. Are you kidding me?
I just dont see all the love for Clem. Tahj Boyd is a good player but one damn bspn fool actually said he was his FAVE FOR THE HEISMAN!!! I think Sammie Watkins made him look better than he actually was last year.
And Mrs St.....Come on.
We could very well lose those games but I just dont see it. I see two teams that can be beaten...And I see an AU team that is bonding and getting ready to close out some UNFINISHED BUSINESS!! And it starts with Clem!
And as I have said if that doesnt happen i am still going to be in the same mindset as I am right now. I dont by any stretch of the imagination think we are going to win them all. And I have no expectations for this season. We are still very young and lack a littlle depth at some very key positions. But if last years team can win 8 with all the poor play. I am sure we can see a much improved 9 win team this year.
IT ALL STARTS NEXT SATURDAY!!!! WAR DAMN EAGLE YALL!!! COME ON!!!
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
I can understand the Clemson game being a toss up, but there is no excuse in year 4 to ever lose to Mississippi State when you are the HC at Auburn. If anybody tries to make excuses for losing to them, they're pulling the wool over their eyes.
It is often very close. We only won by 3 pts in 2010 and who can forget the nightmare of a game in 2008 when Auburn scored all the points...including Miss State's. We did beat them handily in 2009.
Grammar: The difference between knowing your sh*t and knowing you're sh*t.
Good point. She wasn't here that night. Ha ha.
Remember: If The Jury Box Is Stacked With Foxes...The Chickin Is Always Guilty
Then we would be 0-2.
Well last time we started out that way we had a hell of a season the next year (2004) but I didn't like it in 2003 one bit!
