When you first announced Kamryn Pettway's commitment to Auburn, you said he was a 4*. Now, on both the 247 rankings and the composite rankings, he is a 3*. What happened? I'm sure someone else has already asked you this but please humor me. Thanks.
Players get re-evaluated all the time. He'll have a chance this summer/fall to impress in camps and in competition. Obviously, I'm not Bryan, but again, this happens with all players. Sometimes they lose a star based on inactivity or the rater's judgement and sometimes they gain stars.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Thanks guys, no issue with the stars. I was just curious. I am fully aware that stars don't mean everything. I just noticed it while reading some complaints about current commitments' stars.
He was a 4-star in the 247Composite, which combines the rankings from several major recruiting services. He's not a 3-star in the 247Composite. He's been a 3-star on 247 from the start. BTW, he's an 89 on 247, which is very close to a 4-star.
247 was the first recruiting site to Eval Pettway (as usual). 247 gave him a 89 which is a 3* on 247 star rankings but 89 is a 4* on the 247 composite ranking that weigh each recruiting sites evals equally. Since then 2 other sites evalled Pettway as a mid 3* which brought his composite to 86.7 and thus from a 4* to a 3* on the 247 composite.
