Fearless And True
Auburn people feel a deep and passionate responsibility to uphold standards not written on paper, but lived from the heart.
The why a new 60 million dollar arena?
How about 2004? Did Chizik get any credit for developing those leaders?
No that was Tubbs team. We're talking about HCs not DCs.
So is it the assistant coaches or the head coach who develops talent? I think it is both, but you seem either confused, or just determined to run our coaches in the ground. Sad, in my opinion.
lol, this made me laugh.........
A voice of reason...nice post!
Last 4 year records of the top teams in the west and their respected recruiting rank at the time:
2009: CONF. Overall
LSU........5-3.......9-4.......Number 1 class
BAMA - 8-0.........14-0........Number 2 class
ARK - 3-5..........8-5..........Number 20th class
AU - 3-5..........8-5..........Number 25th class
LSU - 6-2.........11-2.....Number 8 class
BAMA - 5-3.......10-3.....Number 3 class
ARK - 6-2.........10-3......Not even in the top 25
AU - 8-0..........14-0......Number 4 class
LSU 8-0........13-1 Number 9
BAMA 7-1........12-1 Number 2 class
ARK 6-2.........11-2 Number 3 class
AU: 4-4.........8-5 Number 19
So clrealy this coaching staff can recruit. The issue I have is we are recruiting with the likes of Bama, LSU, FSU, and various others, and beside the year of CAM and Fairley Chizik is 7-9 in SEC conference and and 16-10 overall, with this year looking even more rough. 2 straight +5 recruiting classes. What I dont understand is why Bama's, LSU, FSU young players can translate, learn the system and get significant playing time, contribute early. Ours can't?
I am not looking for a NT every year, but I am looking to have a more competitive vibe about our teams. No reason that we cannot win 10 games a year. Granted 3-4 of those are going to be cupcakes.
We have the talent. I want to see that talent being developed and getting better. I hate losing, but do not mind it as long as I see improvement. Young, old, freshman, senior. Improve each and every game.
WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
Cam was great but even he will tell you that without the leadership and experience of the team he could not do it on his own. Look at the O Line he played behind. Why do you think he came to Auburn? He saw how good the team chemistry and the line he was behind. I am in total agreement that we would not have won a championship without him. Those of us that are true Auburn fans we will make it through this, we have been there before. I know BVG's resume and I am willing to wait. For all true fans hang in there you might be suprised, remember the 2006 season against Florida.
My friend you do realize that no coach averages 10 wins a year? You find me a coach who averages even 9 wins a year and you've found a good coach.
I think you have two choices with your program. You can be a 9-10 winner who may sniff a conference championship and a BCS bowl game, like a Clemson, WVU, or Wisconsin. Or you can have a team that decides to take a hit for a year or two and reloads to get a conference title and bigger.
I know Alabama/LSU are on top right now. But look back to 2000...every team is going to hit that lull.
I'm just saying averaging 10 wins a year may be unrealistic for any program, much less Auburn. Tuberville didn't come close to 10 wins. Or Bowden. Or Dye. Or Jordan.
You grad, bro?
