Not sure if it's been mentioned but my computer picked up a virus from this site earlier today. Had to call in the office IT crew to get things straightened out.
The virus makes an alert appear saying the "Microsoft Security Exchange" had detected a critical virus and I needed to clean my computer immediately. Fortunately, I smelled a rat and did not click.
I just wanted the folks at 24/7 to be aware.
I had the same thing happen to me this a.m. while I was trying to click on an article about Dyer! It surely did look authentic but thank the Lord I didn't fall for it either.
Same here around lunch time today. Luckily my antivirus software caught it and destroyed it before any harm to come to my computer.
same for me...
Yes same thing happened to me but my anti- virus caught it. It was the Mike Dyer story.
Never had an issue....visited and read all of the Dyer stories and didn't have a problem.
Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
Just a heads up, ...
Microsoft doesn't use web based "pop ups" to warn you about security issues, nor do they use them to "fix it" lol!! Their security is interwoven into the OS UI....you will see an alert coming from the system tray next to the clock that an update is needed. Usually, the updates excute @ shut down and boot up; however, from the system tray, you will be invited to go ahead and shut it down at the time of the update.
Most people turn updates off, and don't install anti virus, sooooo, their puters get sick.
I use Google Chrome to browse the net, use Ad Aware FREE anti virus and 9 times out of 10....it's problem free. You MUST be proactive...becuase the bad guys are!
