Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
I have no inside information. I keep hearing that the family really likes Auburn and the oldest kid is at the age where moving around and making friends is a big deal. It is the life of a coach, but it would not hurt his career to spend a couple more years at Auburn. Auburn coaches are always in high demand.
I'm not sure any of our assistants have what it takes to replace Gus, but spending an extra year under him and Chizik can not be bad for a career.
If I was going to take the Texas job it would be under a new HC where you knew you had 3 years to rebuild the program. Going there now is a big gamble. Brown is one more bad year away from a forced retirement. If Grimes wants to go to Texas he should wait a year and go when Gus takes over as the new HC.
"There's no doubt, we're going up."
I just saw a tweet that said that a Texas TV station is reporting Grimes has accepted the Texas position. Anyone else heard anything?
