80% of the Auburn Alums I have talked too don't want BP. They realize that the integrity of the University is more important than instant gratification on the football field. The fact that some of you are concerned what the updykes think indicates a problem with perspective.
Tell all 5 of them hey from Croup. And let the 1 that wanted BP that he/she is the smartest in the lot.

"I've seen some coaches lose with good players. I haven't seen anybody win without them." Rhett Lashlee
Well since someone already put a post in here as I hoped would not happen, let me just say that this Auburn Alum would gladly support Bobby Petrino (and anyone else once they are our guy really) and I do not care one bit about what bama does or thinks in any way shape or form.
Put that in your percentage!
Fearless and true.
In related news, all Auburn faculty and staff will now be subjected to lie detector test. Anyone caught lying about anything, or anyone discovered to be engaged in a pre-marital or extra-marital sexual relationship (Note to Bible thumpers: these two things are equally sinful), will be fired on the spot.

No matter who is chosen the fan base is going to be very split. I for one plan to support the new coach no matter who it is. I just want someone who will get a strong handle on the players, let Yox or who will be the master of the weightroom get mandatory workouts again and beat Bama,LSU, and GA
Well Ive been in love with Auburn since the mid 60s. Put one through Auburn and have one there now. I witnessed every home game in 10 and witnessed in person the beatdown in turdtown. I witnessed 2 Wonders of the World in 3 days while in Phoenix. As for me and mine we will gladly accept Petrino.
Have you followed this board at all? The issue with Petrino, for those that have an issue with him, is not the affair.
What is your relationship with this Rand cat? Are you wanting him to be elected? He probably wouldn't want to be in your signature while you throw stones at the bible thumping constituency.
WE COMING . WAR EAGLE !
well the way the university is viewed by the media anyway, is always downward , AUBURN admin has made some odd to be kind mistakes themselves, so why are they speaking with their nose turned upward. get the university upgraded and stop all this pandering and jocking for position . start thinking big time and world wide...GO AUBURN !
Most, but not all, the AU folks I talk to outside of internet land seem to be either against BP being hired or are, like me, on the fence. I'm just being honest when I say I struggle with the idea of hiring him as our coach - not because of an affair or because I doubt he can win - but because it's hard for me to believe he has just flipped a switch so that a decade or more of what appears to be poor judgment and decision making is no longer an issue. It's just hard to believe that that much change happens that quickly. JMO, but I think that's where a lot of AU folks are.
Run to the Hills! Run for your lives! We Comin'!!! WDE!
It's not just Auburn Alums. I personally know people that work for Auburn or have talked to employees of Auburn University, and I'm talking people that have worked there for years, that say if BP is the next head coach they will start looking elsewhere. They don't want to be associated with Auburn if they think he is what Auburn needs.
I've heard from people at Auburn that the papers were signed 3 weeks ago. If that's the case then it's no different than Jetgate--you don't hire one person before you tell the person currently holding the position that they are fired.
Of course people are going to bitch about it, until he starts winning and shows that a human being can change. I find it highly ironic that people are basing their judgement upon Bobby Petrino based on media accounts and perspective. You hypocrites do realize that this is the same media we were defending Cam against and so upset that everyone in the country thought Cam and Auburn were dirty and everyone was crying about how unfair media portrayal was. Unbelievable.
Is he a changed man? I dunno, but I want to believe so. Those of them who actually know him or have spoken to him believe he truly has, so I'm going to believe them because they know more than any of us. But either way I know it isn't my place to judge.
Just one last thought and I'm done. All the man knows is coaching and he loves coaching.... Do you really think he could possibly mess up again? He knows if he messes up again that his career is over.... Just a little perspective.

I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
that's BS BS BS
Don't you know you're just not thinking it through? You are too young to know any better because you have lived life without consequences and are constantly bailed out by others. 4evrtiger said so.
