Apparently not. Let's fold up the tents and move do Division III.
He did a great job chasing stars. How well did all those stars do the last couple of years? One of the most critical components of a successful college program is evaluation - finding and targeting players who can play at the SEC level. If you're very good you might be able to have 60% of recruits actually contribute at the college level. Now that we're giving 4 year scholarships we can't afford to make many mistakes. TT's surrogate father style is a fine way to get close to kids but part fo that should be pushing them to be the best they can be, not letting them slide.
Whoever is in charge of it, we need to do a much better job of evaluation and who we are targeting before we start developing relationships with the player and family.

I don't know how many people know what was going on behind the curtain (I knew nothing) but we all loved Trooper's efforts to bring in the cream of the crop to Auburn. I am excited about the new AU football program and hope the natural ego that comes with a HC does not overlook the excellence that was in the program on the way to cleaning house. There is much dedication, expertise and wonderful AU people moving out the door. I wish them and their families well and trust Malzahn to evaluate and give some of the past professionals a chance to make their case of how they have and could continue to do great things for AU. For the benefit of the current players, I hope some continuity remains for them and the recruits to have some comfort, connection and confidence for the future. WE, and excited for our new AU football program.
I can't wait for D Benton to break out next year. Oh wait.

I want legit SEC football players. He didn't recruit enough of them and certainly didn't develop them. He's a great on paper coach
Trey, Trooper Taylor is a great recruiter for Trooper Taylor not Auburn. We will lose a few, but believe me we will have great recruiters on the new staff that can coach. TT is not a good coach.
I could care less about the stars. If you don't improve and receivers haven't done much over the years, its time to go. Get out, see ya later, thanks for your time but let see if anyone else can do better. WDE!!
