Trooper Taylor Blaise Taylor Gus Malzhan and an Offer

  • I will probably get skewered for this but I didn't want it getting buried in the Blaise Taylor offer thread...

3 parts to this (Not making it VIP because I want the trollers that have some common sense to read and understand and the others under Median IQ line will just glaze over, say Roll Tide and go to dollar general for something)

    1. Trooper Taylor - I don't know what he did if he did it or how. If he did....whatever. Gus takes the high road and moves on with great comments yesterday at the presser but Trooper is still just as polarizing and influencial recruiting wise as he always has been and that is due to his bravado, appeal to young players and his relationship building. It is what made our side cheer him on when the towel came out and made Bam's loath him because he is good at what he does.

    2. Blaise Taylor - he is his own person and a talented football player, the actions of others including relatives (if true) should never define you as a person.

    3. Gus Malzhan - smart, smart, smart and in many different facets.

a.) Offer given right after 2013 class was in the books and it was very public. It does not give your enemy any time or momentum to use a situation you are not responsible for (recruiting practices) against you. Covers future recruiting and Public Relations right out of the gate, the timing and publicity was very intentional.

b.) Trooper - You just about can't bad mouth a program that is actively recruiting your son and look genuine (get it?) plus Trooper's influence on other 2014 recruits that he already has good relationships with are less likely to be jeopardized against our coaching staff building onto those relationships as well.

c.) All the other cut-throat recruiters and their fan bases. What can they say, Troopers dirty and that's why they didn't retain him (Now in constant contact with his family and could be for 4 more years). Just trying to keep Trooper quiet, doesn't make sense, Auburn already paying him for an additional year to be honorable with his words and time. Why open the door for him to possibly have his name associated with the team any longer than it has to be.

There is more to this offer on so many more chess-like levels than we are thinking about. It's a brilliant move.
