Quarterback Clint Trickett, who will transfer from Florida State, has chosen West Virginia. He also visited Auburn and South Florida. Trickett will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Must have been some workings going on in the background. Hadn't heard WVU was even in the consideration.
Crazy world of recruiting.

How do you feel on this one Phillip? Did we miss on him or was it just a "come here and that's great" but not really a hard push effort?
ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
I honestly don't know, but I don't think it's a big deal one way or the other.
With my past and future precisely divided am I at that moment....I haven't decided.
They have been in the running from the start and were the lead the whole time.
Alright! Let's go burn some furniture!
I think Clint knew he wasn't going to play here. If Jonathan Wallace gets this O down..... He will be a great one at Auburn.... His attitude and leadership alone will contribute to many wins! WDE Keep Working Jonathan
As has been said before, there are viable candidates either on campus or en route to be the QB this fall. I think Wallace can excel with this staff and offense; the coaching staff obviously thinks Marshall can or they would not have brought him in as a juco, and those are just two of five.
Trickett would have had his work cut out for him, competing against 5 others. And, the number of reps would have been cut down for all of the candidates because of limited time and limited number of receivers. Unless the coaches had lots of confidence in him(possible) and very little in the individuals they had already recruited (not likely), Trickett made the right choice for him and for Auburn.
Yes, I believe in Auburn.
