Someone started a thread about TR, so I thought I'd share my TR experience. Back when Tracy was playing at AU, I was a DJ at the Hunter and he was there a few times (wink, wink). One night he asked me if I would mix him a tape of music (old school dance stuff) and I said sure, as long as he sent my mom a Christmas card. The next night I gave him the cassette tape (I'm dating myself now) with my moms name and address on it and forgot about it. Months later, around Christmas, my mom calls and tells me she received a card but could not recognize the signature of who had sent it. When she said that under the signature was a big #74, I realized that TR didn't forget our deal. I thought that was really cool of him! WAR DAMN TRACY!!!
That is the TR I knew. Great story.
You weren't dating yourself by saying you were a DJ during Rock's playing days? It was the cassette that was supposed to tip us off?
Fearless and true.
Yeah, I guess I dated myself all over the place in that story.
lol, just bustin your chops. Your mom still have that card? I'd have framed it.
Nothing against CRG at all, but I miss having TR on the staff. If there was any way to add him to the existing staff I'd pony up some funds to help make it happen. I give him a ton of credit for the championship run.
"So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."... Rev. 3:16
I don't believe so... It was many moons ago and It may have got lost in the shuffle when she moved.
I was @ the Ols Miss game in Oxford in 2010 when Cam caught the TD pass. After the game i saw A LOT of Ole Miss players and coaches look Tracy Rocker up and gave hand shakes and hugs. That shows how respected he was after his time there. It says plenty when the players and coaches who just got the crap beat out of them respond that way. WDE Tracy Rocker,we miss you.
