I've been reading everyone's take on Ruben and I can't help but wonder what did they hear that I didn't? To me, it doesnt sound like he is letting bama down gently. Sounds like he is still firm to bama. He said when luper says war eagle constantly to him he says roll tide back. I didn't hear anything from him that singled out AU at all. I heard that he is taking all his visits with his family. I also heard that you don't have to attend a big school to get noticed. I did hear Nicky's name in reference with the nfl. I will admit that him attending AU high school is a plus but doesnt mean he's ours. Besides, this guy may never even see the field unless his grades improve.
I believe that the tail-gate scene and the traffic crush on game days will really help us. Anywhere he goes on these days will scream out what a great fan-base we have and how much the players are appreciated. Also, we have a decided lack of obnoxious, drunk trash roaming the streets that turdistan must live with - 24/7.
Completely agree Mr. Hollis.I started to comment on the other thread but I didn't want to dampen any spirits and I do think we have an outside shot.
Let's see... He regrets committing early. He committed to bama bc of saban and the ability to get to the NFL, but, now he realizes that any school he goes to he can get to the NFL. Obviously other coaches have been preaching this to him, and now he fully believes he can go anywhere he wants, and make it to the NFL, which is completely true. He is no longer brainwashed by saban into thinking saban is the only person who can get him to the big leagues.
Did you also miss the part where he says there is a chance he makes the flip?
Did you hear the part that he is best friends with two of Auburns coaches, sons?
LOL. Go back to bamaonline buddy.
True he is still committed to ua. Given the circumstances,CL & BT are his best friends. Which means unlimited home visits to two of the best recruiters in the nation.(RF going to luper & taylor home.) You got to like our chances!
Oh my bad. Did I miss something? Did he decommit from bama and flip? Last I heard he's still committed to the dark side...buddy.
You heard what you heard and I heard what I heard. Buddy.
Agreed. I do like our chances going forward. I just didn't come away with the same conclusion as some.

"Bottom line is that year end and year out we get beat for top players.
Because AU is a nice place but, it isn't a household name yet.
players want that. Nick Satan and jumbo fisher lose coaches every year also, but that doesn't seem to stop them. Hell, fsu hasn't had a breakout year in a while. Bottom line. We are getting whipped.
Guy is an alabama fan who likes to post a bunch of crap over here. Again, go back to bamaonline, buddy.
I have been away for the weekend and just had a chance to hear video and read posts. All I can say is that I hope the young man does well in high school and prepares himself for the future. Coach Luper's son sounds like a very positive influence to help Rueben through high school regardless of his college decision.
He said he originally committed to Alabama because of the prostyle of Saban and Smart but also said that he has since learned other options will also work. I read the interview as him being pretty open to consider other options. Obviously, I think Auburn is the best place for him to develop in life and prepare for the nfl. I wish him the best.
Replying to you is useless, but I will for everyone else's sake. Im not a bama fan, I attended AU from 1998-2000. I love AU. I just tend to be more of a realist. Something you need to learn. To me that's what separates us (AU fans) from them. (bama). Not everybody sees it your way, so try to be a little more respectful. (if possible).wde.
