Gus himself has said this is a QB friendly offense. i think it is more of a QB dependent. Check 2009 when Todd had good games and when he had poor games. We could not move when he was off. we need consistently god QB play as any winning team does.
You said 8...I said 8 reg season wins. You said 8 reg season wins. So what is your point other than acting like I am arguing with you?
The defense didnt look good at all last year. But to ignore the talent on the field is..well a bit lazy. The biggest issue our defense had was tackling and pressure by the DLine.
I think you give too much credit to the new offense and too little credit to the new D.
But on top of this all.....What you say is truth to YOU. Doesnt mean it has to be truth to me. As it is subjective until the team hits the field.
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
We havent had one in the past 15 years besides Cam.

That's exactly how the game worked in '09.
Sorry for the wait but got to pay attention to other stuff sometimes...just off the top off my head from last year...LSU 10-2 did not have great QB play. I think he was rated around 11th... in the SEC! That is not great QB play. Pretty sure I can come up with several AU examples where we went 9-3 or even 10-2 over the last 30 years sometimes with and sometimes without great QB play. Again, my point was ...to say we need great QB play (of the Cam variety) to go 9-3 or even 10-2 is just not always true. I'm not saying it wouldn't help, I just take exception to the logic that it is required. When a thread is titled "the truth" what do you expect...

The ones you mentioned had great teams around the avg qb play, if we had great d fine, great o-line fine, play makers at every position but as far as we know we do not. The truth
Your debate skills are.
Personally I think there is plenty of talent on this team, that, for last few years have received little coaching and little motivation to strive to be better. I think we see a vast improvement on all sides of the ball for nothing but the mere fact of new opportunities of playing time and veteran coaches that know what good football players need to do. I am very concerned about QB play but believe we have the O-line and Rbs to help him out.
It cant get any worse than last year - I expect any where from 7-9 regular season wins but from a team that is competitive. I expect a team that when/if it loses has to be beat, not just show up for the loss.

Going into the 4th quater, we were down 11 to MSU, and a TD or less to Vandy and Arky.
What is your definiton of "it wasnt close"?
Did u watch the games? I was at the ms st & vandy games, after mccaleb returned the touchdown it was game over they did anything they wanted on both sides of the ball, at vandy if any auburn fan felt that games was close you couldn't find them we could do nothing against them, it might as well been 28 points we had no ability to play from behind last year. Don't try to make this a case of we were so close last year because if you saw the football that was played we were not close.

"Truth -- You can't stand the truth!" -- my all time favorite line...
Odds are that if you look at the schedule, and barring Wash. State does not suddenly produce a 'Cam-type' QB, I think we are 2-0 going into Miss State at home. I give us the edge with our crowd -- 3-0. Reality hits at LSU, probably 3-1. Then Ole Miss at our house and a big rebound game, I give us the edge 4-1 then 5-1 going into College Station. Hopefully a fun competitive game, but probably now 5-2. The next three SHOULD be winnable, but let's say we get 2 out of 3, now the good guys are 7-4 going against UGA & UAT. Both at home, both spirited, and both competitive and I think we shock the world and come away 1-1 -- this leaves us 8-4 with a good bowl prospect. However, this is slightly optimistic for a defense that was fairly poor just last year. So, as my old wise baseball coach used to say -- if we score more points than the other team, we usually win. :)
All Auburn All the Time!
Maybe your right
Bandwagon comment. Trying to score points with the cool kids? I expect better.
Since... you know, they stop keeping score after three quarters. We lost by 17 and 18 to Arky and Miss State...What is your definition of "close"?
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Craig Krenzel might disagree. Or Gino Toretta. Or Matt Mauck. Or Scott Frost. Or Chris Leak.
You grad, bro?
Also, last I checked, Arkansas State had never run Malzahn's offense, had some dude named Aplin at QB, and got to a bowl game first year.
I have no clue what we do this year but I wouldn't make a thread, mark it as truth, and then just give an opinion either.
These are the exceptions not the rule. Does anyone on this board feel that who we have got on the roster at this time is a championship qb? No. A sec championship qb? No. A sec caliber qb? Not yet.
