I have a very hard time believing so many Auburn fans on this board are actually agreeing with some of the cynical fans of our rivals in promoting the drivel that our 2010 NC was just a fluke due to a freak. 2010 was a tremendous accomplishment of the AU football program and will forever be a great and unique Auburn story, the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance by many. The players and coaching staff sealed the deal over and over again on the field that year.
I've been on overachieving great teams and under performing poor teams. In both cases, coaching made the critical difference. If you're going to hang the 2012 season on Chizik you also have to hang the 2010 crystal football around his neck, too.
I don't know where we are going from here. I am sure that, whatever happens, I will not be consulted or asked for any input by the PTB.
Whatever happens I will always be loyal to Auburn and support our coaches and players.
NCs don't grow on trees. Just ask the ga fans for confirmation. It takes a great team, a great coaching staff and a lot of fortunate bounces of that weirdly shaped ball to win one, much less go 14-0 to do it i.e. a great poker player drawing into about 10 inside straights in a row. It's a combination of knowledge, experience, talents, determination and a long series of difference-making plays that all go in your favor. Maybe al is making it look easy right now, but it isn't. A year like this reminds me of that fact.
"Brick by brick, my citizens. Brick by brick"
It is what it is. That year was unlike any other in college football.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
