Chizik, supposedly, would be willing to jettison several assistants to hang around. CSL and Pelton seem like the most obvious on the chopping block.
BVG, his DC, plainly thinks this whole situation is screwed up.
Luper I have been told is outta here, going back to Texas somewhere.
If I am Trooper and Grimes I look around while I've still got a reputation as a capable coach.
Yox apparently is on the chopping block, too.
The only people apparently NOT expendable are Jacobs, Tim Jackson, and Chizik.
Funny how that works.
Tossing assistant coaches will not work. What lamebrain came up with THAT strategy?
If this team has been lost by CGC, as is appears to have been through my non-insider, just a fan, eyes - then he can change all of the coaches he wants, BUT I have a hard time believing it does anything more than painfully postpone the inevitable (very painfully for us, the loyal AU fans). In the business world where I live and work, when a manager loses his team, it is almost impossible for that manager to re-gain his/her team, or to re-invent himself/herself to the level necessary to effectively lead that group again. The odds are just against that happening because whatever happens, the new message/direction is always questioned ... is it sincere change or is it just trying to hang on change. So even if some coaches change, CGC will still have to walk to the front of the room to lead his AU team. I can not imagine that group of young men will buy into the other other new direction, or the re-invented CGC as sincere. So while a few new coaches might buy in, I don't think the players will. In the long run, both AU and CGC will be better off parting ways. Now if that happens or not, another question for another day. Sure hope so.
thats a great idea....Change the game all over again and get a second crack at turning the ship int eh right direction....Sorry I had to stop...laughing to hard.
Lets look at this-
Changed OCoords due to Gus leaving to take a pay cut. Brought in a realtive unknown for a new OC. FAIL
Lost Roof to the powerhouse UCF...Until PSU came and snatched him up. And Chiz brought in a superstar in our eyes in BVG....With Chiz meddling FAIL....Without (LSU game) Success!
BVG isnt coming back. CSL isnt coming back. Trooper shouldnt come back. Luper is heading out. Grimes should find another spot. Pelton....does he even coach or just do interviews? because that position has been the least prodcution from what was supposed to be a strong spot on the team.
So that leaves us with just Chiz and Thig and Boulware.....Might as well start over!
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
