How confident are you that our next head coach will either be Jimbo or Petrino? Also, can you imagine any circumstance where our next head coach is NOT either Jimbo, Petrino, Strong, Chip Kelly, Malzahn, Smart, Rhoads, or Patterson?

Auburn...a family tradition since 1905
Probably someone Saban can run all over....unless Auburn has finally awaken, which I doubt.
I know one thing. If it's not Petrino, a lot of money won't be coming to Auburn anymore.
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
Frankly my husband and I would like to see AU go after John Gruden. You can be sure the Vols are. Hey if you are going to do it right, and pay for a good proven coach, AU would get their moneys worth and a program to feel great about. I sure hope AU doesn't waste time, because getting a good, no great, coach has a small window of opportunity. Time to bring back the tiger pride. I don't know what happened this year, but it's sad and depressing for everyone... And CGC obviously cannot fix what is broken, nor can his staff.
I know exactly what you mean..... they will get over it if they have to. May take a while..... And dont misunderstand me. I want BP as much as the next guy. But if we make a solid hire then by spring the same guys that are throwing the money around demanding Petrino will be in love with the new guy.

Outside of winning a Super Bowl, what has Gruden done??? Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of his. Love listening to the guy break down a game and his QB camp, but I just don't think he's the guy. The Super Bowl he won was done so with a veteran QB. I'm not sure he's the development guy you need in the college game. And give up on bobby p.
Petrino is the best coach available and we need that desperately today!
My next choices would be Gus or Jimbo but very disappointed with someone like Patterson or Strong.
yeah--i honestly think u are right---all of my auburn friends that live nearby are fully expecting petrino to be our next coach--i dont think anything else will go over very good at this point--thats just judging by their comments and the 3 auburn boards i read
One name I have not heard mentioned is Larry Fedora. Good coach at Southern Miss and doing well at UNC despite not having talent no where near the level Auburn can recruit.
I assume by this you will not be sending your millions to Auburn
Kids, (a) Changing speeds is more important than a curve ball (b) you play defense with your feet & (c) Wayne Hancock is the tits.
Kelly & Smart are definite No's, in my opinion. I wouldn't expect much out of Patterson or Rhoads either
