Do you people listen to the crap that comes out of your mouth? Honestly? Do you really think that Trooper is all bitter over this and somehow planned and told Reuben to decommit? You people really need to take a step back and think about how ridiculous that sounds. Trooper is a professional and you people just want a reason to bitch about something.
Honestl one of the dumbest things I've read on this site, and that says a lot.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Just a price to pay to move away from Chizik/trooper. Glad I learned before not to get excited about a recruit until he makes a play on the football field in an Auburn jersey. Good luck Reuben, in football and tattoo removal. Should have gotten a tattoo of Trooper instead if that's the only reason you were here lol.
To borrow a phrase from CGC.......
Auburn was great before you commited and it will be great after you decommited.
We still have a couple of months to go before signing day, and there's plenty of good players out there. Just because a few want to go elsewhere shouldn't get our panties in a wad. We'll get our share of good players who really WANT to play for Auburn, and I also feel CGM will get some assistants who will be as good a recruiter as we've had, and with less baggage - and maybe not with the NCAA painting a target on his back! I never truly believed RF would stick with us - he's too caught up in the hoopla of recruiting what with all the coaches fawning over him. Good luck to him, and to whomever takes the chance on him. I'll go with CGM and whomever he picks for Auburn recruits. WDE!!
As the songs says - DON'T SLOW DOWN!! Eufaula, Alabama! WDE!!!
Hate to lose him but for once scarbinsky was right: no one assistant should be bigger than the HC or the school. Let him go.
It takes two to play...and we aren't playing that game.
“Give me a 5* with no production and I’ll raise you a 3* with a work ethic that can mop the floor with your 5*’s rear end.” --said me.
I agree. I watched him in the Auburn High game vs. Carver and talked to a coach for AHS. Was not impressed with how he played on the big stage and neither was the coach. From what I heard he had been coasting and not working hard, which could be said for alot of highly touted recruits but I would rather have a 3 star that worked his butt off than a 5 star who was only coming to auburn because of one man, trooper taylor. I hope CGM shows that it is more about one person it is about Auburn.
I think Bryan said it best that this coaching staff has 2 months to build a relationship with him before signing day. I know a lot of people criticize these kids, but most of these kids not pick the school based on the school. Normally its the relationship they build with coaches or said coach and or the promises or chance to play early. Also remember that a lot of the high school players may or may not even know who Gus Malzahn is, or Ellis Johnson.
High School coaches might, parents might, the kids may do some research and find out, here, ESPN, other articles. Also understand Reuben has relationships with all these other schools and coaches during the recruitment time. AU is practically starting fresh. With his family being local, being able to watch him play a lot easier on saturday, and etc. That will weigh heavy on a kid, his family, and should be an easy selling point for EJ.
Goodbye... You should never spend 4 years of your life for one coach. That is a terrible reason to pick a school.
