Give me a 1-10 score regarding the game last night. 1 being it was worse than you could have ever imagined and we need drastic changes now to 10 being it was better than you could have dreamed and let's make Chiz a lifetime coach. A 5 would mean the team performed about what you'd expect.
I have been surprised at our fanbases's reaction so far so I wanted to see if my anecdotal evidence was accurate.
4.... I expected more from the Dline and the LBs.
But I was not looking for the team to break out with a defense that only gave up 150yds total and no points. Seems some onn here did think that was the only thing TOO EXPECT.
Kf looked like a first time starter...GO FREAKING FIGURE RIght??? He will be much better and showed some real moxy taking the hits that the Oline let in. Just looked tenative on the run chances that he did have HOWEVER he did keep his eyes downfield and looked like a Mobile QB not a RUNNING QB. Which i am good with and he is going to get better.
Oline is going to get an added boost when Rd comes back.
Wwrs need to really step it up. Too much talent to not get the job done. But some of that will come with KF getting better. And getting more conf in them.
What will tell the story is how we come out against missy st. Come out and get waxe and we are in trouble. Get the win ON THE ROAD and we will be 2-1 with Lswho commn to town.
BEST THING OF THE NIGHT- No major injueries and these kids fought like TIGERS! That is a positive. Becasue there is not one fan with any sense that would think if we gave them that many chances and were as bad as we looked at times last year that we wouldnthave gotten 70 hung on us.
Bad is never as bad as it seems and good is never as good as it seems.
WAR DAMN EAGLE!!
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
And I'd be happy with 7 wins given our talent and game experience at LB, OL, QB and WR.
In addition to injuries, we miss Erick Mack because of someone else's foolishness. We missed Dismukes for a game for his foolishness. And we miss on Mike Dyer, Shaun Kitchens, Dakota Mosley, Antonio Goodwin and Jessel Curry because of their idiocy. If we had a couple of these guys last night, would we be a little better? Absolutely.
I am not down on this staff or the players. Lack of talent and experience will cause you to lose games.
But next year will be a different story. I think we should all expect 10 wins and another great recruiting class.

Offense - 5. About what I expected.
Defense - 3. Very disappointed. I really expected D-Line play to be better. Tackling continues to be bad.
The low rating is simply because I expected to win...so in that respect my expectations were not met.
Breaking it down, here is how I feel based upon my recollection of the game without watching it over again:
Quarterback: 6: Frazier's first start was a success in my mind. Sure, he overthew a number of receivers, but for the most part I thought he looked good and found the open man more often than not. He made a few things happen with his feet. We HAVE to get better in the red zone...other than that we moved the ball pretty well. Instead of 4 field goals, if we could have had 2 TD's and 2 field goals, and we would have won the game.
Offensive Line - 8 - Without Dismukes and 2 freshman tackles, I expected our O-line to get taken to the wood shed a few times. They seemed to play pretty well and didn't make as many mistakes as I expected. For the most part, penalties were limited...another thing I expected more of from an inexperienced line.
Tight Ends - 5: Expectations are high when Lutz is your TE...he didn't disappoint, but I can't say the TE's played better or worse than expected.
Receivers - 4: Blake looked good as always, but if we are a one trick pony our offense is going to suck. I expect we'll spread it around more against Miss State because they are going to key on Blake.
Running Backs/FullBack: 5: About what I expected. McCallebb was effective, and so was Mason. Sucks we coughed up a fumble, but it happens. Prosch was definitely effective, and I think he'll just get better as everyone gets more comfortable in the scheme.
D-Line - 4: Early in the game I thought the D-line looked pretty good, and we did get good pressure on Boyd. However, we didn't win the battle in the trenches, and it seemed like Clemson was able to run it down the middle for 3-6 yards everytime.
Linebackers - 5: Not sure if it was poor execution by the D-line getting pushed off their blocks, or if the linebackers didn't fill the gaps the way they were supposed to. Since I don't know for sure, I'm going with a neutral 5 for the LB's.
DB's - 3: Again, maybe it was expectations, but I expected better coverage, especially since we were getting pressure on Boyd most of the night.
I am glad we got tested early...I think it will make us play harder against Miss State. I'm expecting a W this weekend...so hopefully we play well.
Malzahn approves of NOW Boot Camp! Well...not really...but he would if he knew about it :) www.nowbootcamp.com

7, I really wanted a win but I saw a lot of material to work with.
7 Mistakes were made, we need to learn how to tackle but the heart was there. Learning experience for all. We will improve! Looking forward to next week. If you look for bad, think the worst and dis the heart, you will get what you expect. These are young guys who started with a big atmosphere and for those returning it was everything start to finish new. It's done but not over. They will learn. Have faith! WDE!
I'm an AUBURN TIGER and LOVE IT!!
