First and foremost, he's an offensive genius - I assume he'll be his own OC
The majority of offensive players were recruited to play in his system
He already has relationships with the current players
For offense recruits, we have instant credibility - hiring a great DC will determine that fate of our current defensive commits.
He gets to hire his Own assistants and not those dictated by the HC - because, well, he now IS the HC
He already knows the lay of the land at AU so the transition should be almost seemless
Almost all of the current assistants will be replaced
He learned first hand how NOT to run a program
He's not bp
Only one year of HC experience
Not really a Con but it's extremely important that he get the DC hire right.
I'm sure there are others but can't think of any right off the top of my head.
Another Pro - maybe all the, trolls, whiners, wailers, bp supporters and other just down right disagreeable people will toddle off to find another board to spread their gloom and doom scenarios and we can get this board back to where it used to be.
“they ain't got nothing but people...Alabama mystique...Georgia mystique...they’ve done it with people. Hell, we’ve got people, too.”Pat Dye
With CGM as offensive coordinator, Auburn was either as good as expected or overachieved every year he was here.
