I am currently on a retreat with the college group in our church in Holden beach NC. There are about 1500 kids here, and we had a young man swept out to sea a bit ago. Please pray he is found safe and sound.
Good friends are hard to find. Enjoy every moment you have with them.

Thank you much for your time, thoughts, and prayers. They've suspended the search for the night, and will resume in the morning, but it doesn't look good. I will keep you updated. Again, thank you, and God bless.
Sorry to hear that. I will be praying for a safe return

One of the guys in the guy's small group sent this out. Thank you for the prayers guys.
Here's what we know:
Kwesi and a few others went to find a geocache off the eastern end of the island at around 5pm. They had to swim across a small channel just off the coast in order to get there, and it seemed safe and manageable. They had no way of knowing what would happen. As they were swimming across, several of them made it across when Kwesi started to call for help and went under. One of the guys who was nearest to him swam back and dove under trying to find him, but couldn't. They immediately had a couple on the beach call 911 as they kept looking for him. The coast guard arrived quickly and searched for hours in boats, with divers and a helicopter. At dark they called the boats and divers in, but the helicopter stayed out as long as he could. They still have not found him at this point, but they will keep up the search. It could take a couple of days to find him. We will send out updates as they come.
Just seeing this, very sorry to hear it. I am praying.
I am a testiment that God is still in the miracle buisness, because of what He's done in my life. And I know he hears our prayers. I don't pretend to know His will in this situation, but I do know that He loves us more than we can comprehend. I pray for the boy, and his family that this will only strength their faith in Him. And I do pray that the situation is resolved quickly.
Father I pray these things, not for myself, but for this mising boy and his familly. I pray you would comfort them and restore their son to them if you could allow that in your will. We can't make in this world without you , and you are the sustainer of all life. I pray it be your will to perform a miraicle in this situation, that all may know of your Goodness and Mercy. And I pray that you are exalted above all. May we all call you Saviour, Redeemer, Most High God. In the most Holy of names , Jesus Christ.
Any new news? I've shared this in my prayer group in my Church. Pease let the family know they as well as all the other kids and staff have a Church in NE TN praying for them. Praying that God's will be done and if that young man is to be found, that the God of all miracles aloows him to return to his family. And if not, that God is still glorified. I read tyhat one was saved through this. That's a start. If we could get the young man's name I'd like to lift him up by name.
In christ alone, TN Aubie
Thank you for the continued prayers. Unfortunately, he hasn't been found. The rescue operation turned to recovery yesterday. We had a memorial service yesterday for him, and it was pretty powerful. Though it is sad, his death has impacted a lot of people, and a few have come into a relationship with The Lord because of it. The memorial focused on how much this man had overcome; how when he felt like no one he came to our church and realized The Lord loved him deeply, came into a relationship with him and committed his life to telling others about the sacrifice Christ made on the cross for us and helping other people pursue a deeper relationship with God. 1700 college kids filed out of the auditorium in silence because of how powerful it was, and raised 10,000 dollars for the family immediately.
We're grateful we can like Paul says in 1 thes 4 grieve without hope - we grieve, but know well see him again soon.
Here's an update:
Our hearts go out to the family. We send our kids out every year on camp retreats and mission trips. Each time we trust them to Gods keeping. We often times forget it's about HIm, and not us.
One of those who was saved may grow up to be the next Biily Graham. We can't see what God sees. And I'm sure his family knows what a blessing it is to know in his case that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".
Can't imagine the grief if he wasn't His child. I will continue to lift up this family that they can experience God' peace that passes all understanding. And the newly saved, that they will grow as new Christians and that they will realize the awesomeness that is God and be bold in their faith.
Thank you Sir for sharing this tragedy with us and allowing us to go to God on this families behalf.
May God bless your day and keep you safe.
You know what I am looking forward to? Whether or not I meet any of you in person during this life, that each of us will be able to sit with kwesi and look back at this in the next. Thanks guys!

Can't pass up an invitation like that! I'll be there and know we'll have other things than AU football to draw our attention!
You take care brother!
