I was told by a coach today that Petrino has been divorced by his wife. Is this true? Did I miss something that is very vital to this search?
If Petrino is now not married, I find it very hard to believe he can concentrate on football and not be looking for something else.
No, he is still married.
Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
That's just thinking mentally retarded.
I Believe Auburn and Love IT...4 Life!
You should prepare yourself to live with the consequences of your decisions, whatever they may be.
I would add they are also in counseling. Thankful they are trying to work things out. Whether or not BP is our coach, I hope their marriage will survive. There is something to be said for doing it for the sake of the kids, and the value of commitment.
The fact they are not taking the easy way out says a lot about how committed they are. With some people that's an inherent thing, others have to learn it the hard way, as long as they learn it. This type of commitment is what I want in a coach, whether it's BP, or whoever.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...

"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
I'm in now way a BP or bust guy, but HUH>>>?? There isn't a man i know that doesn't look. How, when and where and whether they act on it is a different matter. If it makes everybody feel better though, i would just point out that the Auburn Arena is a little farther from the football offices than Beard=Eaves....not much farther, but a little....The volleyball team plays in the Arena.
Gary Patterson is on his 3rd marriage.....think his wives understand how it is being married to a guy who is also married to football?
BP said on his interview on ESPN he wanted to save his marriage, and would do whatever it takes to save it. He is on right track
You make a very good point. The easy way out for Bobby and his wife would have been to go their separate ways... ignore all others and just think of self. Life is about doing God's will and treating one another with great respect... especially for mates to treat one another with great respect. It's a mutual and reciprocal respect.
Hearing the Petrinos are in counseling and working 'things' out raises his stock in my book. I would not be disturbed at all if he is selected.
On the other hand, I personally like a couple of the other prospects above BP for the job opening at Auburn U.
He's already shown a proclivity for younger women. Do you truly believe that if he were single that he would be completely focused on football? Some single men in their fifties might go for the celibate lifestyle, but I don't think anyone can honestly claim that Bobby Petrino would be one of them.
Performance stands out like a ton of diamonds. Nonperformance can always be explained away.
If you're arguing proximity, every athlete on campus goes to study hall in the Athletic Complex.
