I know a lot of you guys don't like him. But he just said " Chizik will be gone by this time tomorrow and Gus Malzhan has a slight lead over Petrino for the job" TIFWIW
where did he say that?
I'll get behind just about anybody they hire, buy if we hire another "up and comer" with very little head coaching experience, I will have lost all faith that our university is committed to winning. How do you hire a coach with a 5-19 record and only two years of HC experience, and replace him with a guy with only one?
IF the good ol boys win out it will be Gus and we are right back to this spot in 5 years. Surely Auburn wont take an unproven head coach AGAIN!!!!
It's tough to take a HC from another top university. Most good coaches were hired as coordinators or coaches at small schools. Who would you want? Realistic choice.
My realistic scenario goes like this: I like Gus, but Petrino is my choice followed by Jimbo, then Strong. Make those three say no before going the unproven route again.
Then again, I say shoot for the freaking moon! Gruden, Stoops, Jeff Fisher etc......
I did enjoy stallings ripping pauly a new one yesterday
Today is a great day to love Auburn, a little better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.
Kids, (a) Changing speeds is more important than a curve ball (b) you play defense with your feet & (c) Wayne Hancock is the tits.
He was on the Mark Packer show this morning on Sirius XM radio
Finebaum doesn't know any more about the search than anyone here does. He gets his "inside info" from message boards.
Thanks for the reminder that I need to get the Finebaum scooper and clean up my dog's Finebaum from the backyard. I hate having to scrape smelly Finebaum off my shoes when I accidentally step in it.
Hiring Malzahn is exactly the kind of hire Auburn prefers. Fairly safe, the AU good ol' boys like it and there is some upside. The downside (viz., an "experiment" again with very little HC experience) isn't really acknowledged.
If we should have a competitive team, hire Petrino or Jeff Fisher if possible and ask Malzahn to be our OC. I know, I know, Malzahn would never do it but that is the type of structure that would work for us now. Malzahn should not be hired as our HC.
So when did slimebaum become the official spokesperson for Auburn University. He has no connections and no inside sources, I personally have been slimebaum free for almost five years. if they want to interview someone with knowledge they should contact Ron, Phillip or Bryan - WDE

Finebaum is beyond "sourceless" when it comes to Auburn Football
"You can't score if you don't shoot"
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
