Actually I have his wife's cell number if you would like it.
If you want, I'll call and let him know your thoughts.
It's Auburn Football! WAR DAMN EAGLE! ALL WE DO IS WIN! WIN! WIN! NO MATTER WHAT!
You have that right, about Shug Jordan. I was at AU the whole time you were, and we had some, well bad, seasons that we had to stick with a guy that the press hated (ask PM) while loving Paul Bryant, openly. I liked them both, and thought that an Army Ranger type was more to be looked up to than a (shall I say Naval Pre-flight football coach), but that was a different era - or was it? However, you talk like Chizik died. In fact he just got a paid early retirement. I must say that as bland as PM's Dad and others found Shug, Gene suffered from a lack of personality beyond Jordan. I can remember in college a near fight, when the AD before JJ, David Housel?, opining to a parking lot bs group,in the mid 60s that they (he didn't know it, but my Dad was on the Board at the time) should can the head coach (his later beloved mentor). My point is that the wild views I now hear tend to change, as the years roll on. It is still fun to BS, as this board shows, but I can tell you that AU football has grown since my first game, in 1951. It will be OK, going forward - I feel. WDE
kick 'em in the ass, big blue.
Read it on this Site. Phillip Marshall reported it in "The Rise and Fall of Auburn Football".
Gene Chizik may be a Great Man but he is not a good football coach for what he did to this football team. Read the facts, did you not see this team quit on him?
I NEVER want to see Chizik darken Auburn's doorstep again. A "mere misstep?" Have you lost your ever-loving mind?? He almost single-handedly destroyed the Auburn football program in record time. And he did it with arrogance and hubris. He will NOT be missed.
