AN OPEN LETTER TO GENE CHIZIK (and his family) FROM PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM...
Dear Gene (and your dear wife and family),
This was a mere misstep at an inopportune moment. We are all not only capable of such missteps, but we have suffered them as well... You are the classiest act to have come through Auburn since a fellow named Shug Jordan. We shall miss you, my friend. You are young enough to recover from this, and I must tell you that down the road, after you have accumulated the win/loss record of which I know you are capable, I and countless others will consider it an incredible honor to have you, in your senior years, as Auburn's Athletic Director. Integrity at the top filters to those below... and you are a man of incredible integrity. No one, not even those who called for your dismissal will deny the fact that you are such a man.
God bless you, Gene Chizik, and may you and your family find peace during this trying time.
J. Frank Dunkin (class of '68)
Interesting....Question, do you know Gene Chizik? Judging by your comments, you do not. I'll leave it at that.
For the record, jmj120, yes, I do... If you have something negative with proof, then speak up... otherwise...SHUT UP!

I don't think Gene reads this board so this is kind of an excerise in futility.
Yeah, you're right of course. How do we get the message to him?
Read Scarbinsky's article and then tell us what you think, kids not required to work out, kids not required to go to class, etc. doesn't match with the picture that you painted, just saying, maybe he is a really good man but he wasn't a very good HC - WDE
ON TO VICTORY - STRIKE UP THE BAND
Well if u know him like u said u do then y don't u just walk up to him and give it to him....Yeah right!
Wow, that's interesting sort of. Where can I find this Scarbinsky article? Seriously, do you expect me to believe that Chiz did not require the players to attend class? Somebody somewhere is smoking something fun if they truly believe that! Scarbinsky is a good, in depth journalist... but he can be over the top quite often not to mention his anti-Auburn bias.
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
Great Post!! Guess all of this proves that God does not care about football because if he did Gene Chizik would always win and Nick Saben would always lose. Glad the good Lord allowed him to come our way. I do believe that it was Coach Chizik's leadership in 2010 that allowed us to climb the the highest mountain top and I am one that is very grateful.
His leadership??? You need to go read Phillip's article on the rise and fall of Auburn football and then come speak of Chizik's "leadership".
Only disciplining certain players? Not caring if certain players went to class or not? Micromanaging? Cutting our coaches legs out from under them? Only giving credit to himself for the 2010 NC which was clearly won by Cam, Nick, a whole bunch of Tubberville's seniors, and Gus Malzahn's scheming?

Well if you don't want to accept his story then by all means go read Phillip's story on " the rise and fall of Auburn football ", there seems to be a total lack of leadership and a very dysfunctional football program all for which Coach Chizik was responsible. Stop burying your head in the sand, that is what JJ did and why we are at the place we are now. No reason for us to continue to beat coach Chizik's up but no need to pour a lot of undeserved "blessings" upon him either. frankly speaking ( even though I liked him ) he was lost as a goose and showed very little leadership ability. - WDE
Not sure why you pay for this site. You've obviously not watched a single game this year J. Frank Dunkin (class of '68).
No comment today after PM said the same thing as Scarbinsky?
