I'm on the search for a new one, my 97 camry is on its last legs and I don't want to drive my truck all the time (drinks gas more quickly than an alabama fan can spell saban) any suggestions, I'm thinking small suv. I trust you guys.
when the going gets weird the weird turn pro
would also love anyone's reviews (previous owners or present) on jeep wranglers and other jeeps.

I've always wanted a jeep, but hated the ride of every one I've testdrove. One of the highest resale values out there though.
While I don't own one, I have heard from several people that the new Ford Escape is an excellent vehicle. Good gas mileage and good reviews.
i'm definitely not above doing a little work on the vehicle and jeeps are (in accordance to my friends) very easy to work on. i DO like the resale fact too good ol' 4 cylinder FTW
Just bought a new Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0 Sport w/turbo engine. Great vehicle! I have been driving Toyotas and Hondas since 1987, and finally got to a point where neither company was making a vehicle that suited my wife and I. Not that any of our previous cars has been anything other than completely satisfactory. In fact I'm still driving my 2007 Tacoma 4X4 PU and love it. Our 2002 Highlander had over 200,000 on it, and it was time to get another vehicle. Anyway, we drove them all and finally settled on the Santa Fe. After three months I have absolutely no complaints, whatsoever. Much cheaper than the Toyota Venza, and more interior room.
I had one in college and loved it. The newer ones seem pretty nice but they don't get great gas mileage. I would avoid the Highlander at all costs. I had one and hated it.
This is what you should get.... I hear you can get them pretty cheap.
In all seriousness... Between my wife and I, we've had 3 grand cherokees from college until now. We recently traded her 2011 Grand Cherokee for a Range Rover Sport, but I really liked the new body style of the grand cherokee. They improved the interior and all the options to really bring them up to modern speed. We had a limited with a Hemi in it and the Hemi was very nice to have. Plenty of power and good for towing.
Get a Toyota Highlander since you obviously already know the longevity of Toyotas, or wait a couple of months until the 2013 Rav4 comes out..its pretty awesome. No more spare tire on the back of it. You simply cannot beat a Toyota for holding their value..unless its a Honda! After driving Camrys for years, I bought a 2010 Highlander brand new. Best money I have ever spent.
