Like this one in the link. What are you thoughts of it and the installation process? Live in Huntsville and wife is on me about getting one. I think that I am ready to pull the trigger.
Does the safe room provide tornado shelter as well? I'm sure the below ground is the way to go, but I have a poured concrete wall basement. I'd like to stick one of the safe rooms in the corner and use it as a shelter. Have you called them yet?
I have called them and the below ground is $6,500 (for 10-12 person). They have a smaller one for less. They actually cut out the slab in the garage to install it (check out the installation video). I am pretty sure the safe room will provide protection as well. But my wife is so paranoid about storms, the the below ground is the only option for us.
Take a look at this one. Can be used as a closet, wine cellar, etc during most of the year when it's not storming and also allows cell coverage to work from inside. Most of the concrete or underground models can cut off your signal. Personally, I just don't like the feeling, whether real or only imagined by me, that I could be in a pit in the ground and get trapped in it while it is raining and filling up with water. Just a thought...
I don't mean any disrespect, but when they say "Lifetime Guarantee," does dying in a tornado void the warranty?
That's pretty good. I will have to ask.
I had one put in under the house when I built it, Solid Concrete walls and all the away around. Just have to manufacture a steel door to make it complete
I never liked the idea of having one in the garage floor, to much time to open the garage door (manually if the power is out) and get the car out of the way.
Do or Do Not, There is no try!!
Could somebody please up vote. I accidentally down voted. Dang iPad
