I'll be attending the Beale St. Music Festival in Memphis next month and was curious if anyone else was going. It's a great weekend trip with a ton of great music (link below for the lineup). And of course, there's tons of great BBQ to be eaten.
Memphis in May International Festival hosts the city's largest events like the Beale Street Music Festival, the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and the Sunset Symphony. Memphis in May also produces extensive education, international, and economic programs for the city.
"Alabama fans love Alabama football, Auburn fans love Auburn" -- Patrick Fain Dye
Decent lineup. I've only been once, in 2001. It's hard to believe that was 12 years ago...
Only problem is that its in Memphis. Jess Sayin
Only thing that keeps me from going is that it seems to rain every year. The Black Keys and The Black Crowes may get me there though. Of with Paul McCartney playing Memorial Day weekend I may need to save my money
The last two years had phenomenal weather. I doubt our luck will hold out for a 3rd year in a row. From the early forecasts, it looks rainy on Friday and then cool/sunny for the rest of the weekend.
Much like yourself, I'm looking forward to The Black Keys and The Black Crows a LOT! ZZ Top should be a fun one to watch, and I'll likely try to catch part of the Smashing Pumpkins show.
I've got a couple Pumpkins bootlegs and its somewhat painful to listen to Corgan at times. Think they play at the same time as The Flaming Lips which is can't miss IMO
Both are playing on the same stage. And it looks like I'll be at that stage all Sunday night... Papa Roach at 5:50, Three Days Grace at 7:35, Flaming Lips at 8:40, and Smashing Pumpkins at 9:20.
The only thing that might would pull me away is the Black Crows playing at 8:55 on the Bud Light Stage.
