Go to Negril....beautiful beaches...if you are staying there make sure you book an all-inclusive resort...
Agreed Negril is the place to go and all inclusive!!!!
Sandals Whitehouse. Absolutely fabulous.
Do or Do Not, There is no try!!
We went to Sandals Negril, it was great. Took trip to dunn river falls, which was a lot of fun.
Ochorio - terribley disappointed
Whatever you do- you must stay in an all inlusive because most of the island is a dump.
We went to a Couples near Ocho Rios and the Gran Bahia Principe in the same area and loved both. The Gran Bahia was our favorite, it is newer and bigger. Almost everything except Scuba (which is great) is included in both of these. There is not much reason to leave the resort unless you want to go to Dunn River Falls. Have Fun! War Eagle!
It's Great to be an Auburn Tiger!!!

Hey Mon! Wat a gwon!
Seriously, you can't go wrong with Sandals/Beaches resorts. Negril, Ochi, and Whitehouse are all unique in their own ways. If you are going to Ocho Rios, their is a place up in the mountains called Murphy Hill. It is an Old farm run by a guy named "Cowboy". The most friendly man you will meet. It overlooks the coast of Ocho Rios, and is about 10 degrees cooler, and much quieter. He has a bar/grill, pool, and a few of the excursions (ATV tours, Safari) stop by his place for the view. Also, 9 mile is Bob Marley's home place, and easily accesible from Ocho Rios area. The Reggae Bus ride is ausome. The tour guides have a great time, and make sure that you will as well.
Negril and points south (Whitehouse) is all about relaxation. Much more laid back. Y-ess (spelling) falls is a great side trip from here. It is much more beautiful than Dunns River Falls, and less touristy. You don't get to climb the falls, but is well worth the trip. Also, Peter Tosh is buried near Sav la Mar, in between Negril and Whitehouse.
Don't be afraid to see the real country side of Jamaica. The people are the most friendly of anyplace in the world. Treat everyone with respect, and your will be treated likewise. I have been to the island more than twenty times and have never felt threatened, or in danger. With that being said, there are areas to avoid in Kingston. Always travel with a JUTA certified cab and you will have "NO Problem Mon"! If you or anyone needs a cabbie in Jamaica, I have used the same guy since my 1st trip. His name is Courteny Rose, AKA "Rusty", all Jamaicans have nicknames. He will travel all over the Island. His E-mail is Icebread@yahoo.com. His is centered in Ochi but will go anywhere with a little notice. If you need his phone number pm me.
