1st - Am I a little disappointed that we have struckout on some big names? Yes
2nd - Is it the death of our program? No way not even close
3rd - With the numbers we have on scholarship we could only take I think 23 without cutting lose some already on. With that being said if we sign 20 we will have extra room for maybe junior college guys or early enrollies for next year.
4th - Of the 20 or so we sign they are good football players. Filled our needs o-line and secondary very well.
5th - And last but not least the day isn't over yet we still have some chances for some big names. Have faith!!
Auburn from day one.
It's good to see some rational posters still hanging around.
My only concern with this class will be that it leaves us very little margin for error. Attrition is a part of football and sometimes players just don't work out. We'll need this one to to hold together well.
I still think we get to 20 if not more. No inside info just guessing.
Its hard to sell playing time at Auburn now. That's how we have stock piled talent the past couple of years. Yes we struckout on a couple of big names but we still signed a great class (quality not quanity). Now if we follow up next year the same as this year numbers wise it might be reason for concern. My opinion to have the class this year with hiring both cordinators so late in the game is nothing short of amazing. I still think we do it the right way and in the end thats the way we need to be. It might not be the immediate way to see dividends but its something to be said about doing it the right way.
