While I feel we should have played for it,
We are no better the the alabama fans choosing to say they have 13 if we claim it.
As for me, I still prefer to take the high road.
Besides we were already named national champions that year by at least one publication.
Now if the bcs chose to name us that is a different issue but claiming it is kind of like drinking crismon Kool Aid.

Look at it from the flipside: If we don't claim it, think of all of the teams, players, coaches and fans and all of the hard work, travel, etc. that went into the 2004 season... to say to everyone else that the whole season was for nothing (being a little dramatic, but still) doesn't seem to be right either.
And just think of how much it would annoy the Updykes.
And another thing....
Where are all of these talking heads (like Mike Baldianchi) who pontificated about the morality of voting for Auburn in the polls and Cam for Heisman this past year? Surely these defenders of truth and all that is good want to see justice done for the 2004 season. If they recuse their votes over accusations against Auburn, then surely they must be that much more upset over proven facts against USC.
