I don't think it's good to try to spin losing these recruits as a good thing or "we will get who wants to be here." there are thousands of kids that would love to be here but the truth is, only a handful are good enough. I want the ones that are good enough that want to be here and some of the ones that don't know yet; that's where the coaches come in by selling auburn to them. Until we get past the bad things that seem to happen to us and just move on and turn the page it's always going to be difficult.
I don't think for the majority it's spin. I'll say it one more time. The last staff spent 4 years recruiting "stars" and could not win one- I say again- one SEC football game last year. That's more than bad coaching. That's also not having the right football players. So if this staff places more focus on character and attitude that's a good thing. The last recruiting model did not work! I think Gus knows this and I also think he knows the level of talent needed to win in the SEC. He also knows how far this team is behind in physical and mental maturity. Hence the Junior College recruiting push.
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
