Thanks IS for the inspiration. I had just about given up. Im not in love with CBP, hell I hated his guts while he was at ARKY, and was dismayed with his antics. But I do think he can restart this program the quickest.

Looks like OP is wrong.
IMO Jimbo was never coming and why his name surfaced is a mystery. Maybe his agent is intentionally passing along bad information. It wouldn’t be the first time. I can’t believe some in the media thought he might come to AU.
There is no way that a coach is leaving a team which has an 11-2 record, are ACC champions, are top 15, and have several years of recruiting classes near the top. Plus it would be a lateral move.
Would he have come to Auburn before the bowl game? NO he wouldn’t and Auburn couldn’t wait until then.
Timing is not right unless we could wait.
Well I guess my prediction was wrong. We told BP that he would get a interview &now it appears we lied to him. I guess that creed that supposedly was the reason we couldn't hire him does not apply to certain people.
Its really a shame we had a chance to hire one of the top coaches in the country that really had something to prove and decided to pass.
