You know, I like Gussy. He knows how to call a crazy offense that's hard to defend. BUT I just don't want to see a bunch of 5'9" guys running the zone read every play. Yes, he did help us win the title, but that was with Cam Newton running that offense, and about 25 seniors also. Who knows what he'll bring in on defense. It just seems too risky to me.
It's almost the same with Smart. Great defense, but who knows how he'll handle the offense.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like we've missed the boat again on a proven head coach. It seems like we're reaching now.
If you can find you a Cam or a Johnny it will work a anywhere.
So let me understand....
we basically just promoted our past offensive coordinator but took the most expensive way possible
we were in the spread, "changed" to a traditional offense, recruited for that, now we are going to spread again?
For Gus's offense to thrive in the SEC, he needs a CAM or Tebust or RG3 or Vince Young EVERY YEAR. The Chris Todd's of the world don't cut it, unless we all agree that 8-5 & 4/5th place in the SEC West is acceptable every year.
Really hope I'm mistaken though, if Gus is the man.
Newton's Law: A Newton in motion will remain in motion, unless acted upon by an endzone.
"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"
My point exactly i'm bored with this we will forever be known as little brother and we wonder why!
Confusing ain't it?
We have a RG III type in JJ. He's not fast but kind spin the rock. That's what we need. He's a more advanced in the passing game than most...Manziel like. (I'm not saying he's coming in and breaking records but is a great prospect to build with)
