If I had to make a guess, I would say that Auburn just might be trying to string this thing out past Saturday so that more options are on the table. My gut is that Petrino is a very viable option, but he's either a Co-Leader or maybe a little further down the line. Either way, Auburn doesn't want to interview him too soon because they aren't in any way settled on him. If that's the case, I imagine that Fisher is likely the preferred choice or at least a Co-Leader. If we can't work something out with Fisher, my best guess is that Auburn would still like to compare Petrino to another strong candidate and that might be why guys like Mora Jr, Paterson, Sumlin, and Petersom are being looked at. In my opinion, none of those last four are likely to take the job. So, that's where Malzahn or even Strong become the likely fall back candidates that could get the job if Jimbo turns us down and if we decide Petrino is going to divide the fan base too much. Also, I think Smart has heard too much about JJ from Muschamp to have much interest in Auburn.
