Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon
When I was a kid in Mobile there was a law which said public places could not be named for a living individual. I'm not sure I will spell it right but there was an exception made for Martha Maitree who was involved in programs for children and young people. We need to renew that law with a provision for no exceptions for the future to prevent things like this.
As I understood it the original law's intent was to prevent naming a public place for someone like Jerry Sandusky who the people of Pennsylvania one though fairly highly of. It also had the effect of preventing the public embarrassment of individuals turned down for any reason.
