Dyer and Blakely may be the same size, but I wouldn't expect Blakely to be as strong a runner as Dyer. One thing about Dyer, he ran HARD. It really is amazing to me to hear the stories about him off the field and in the locker room, being a selfish guy. Because on the field, he was a damn warrior. I'll always appreciate that about him atleast. Blakely does not strike me as that type. Not necessarily a knock against him, as most players don't play as hard as Mike did. But just from reading some of the things Blakely has tweeted and what not it seems like football may not be his #1 priority in life. But he has a different skill set, more speed and agility and probably can catch the ball out of the backfield better. He'll be very good, but I wouldn't expect him to get the tough yards between the tackles just because of his measureables. Just my 2 cents.
Well, Dyer is a BCS MNC Game MVP and 1st team All-SEC running back (behind the worst oline in recent memory), and Mike Blakely is an unproven blue chip recruit. While I don't think we have anything to worry about long term at tailback, comparing Dyer to Blakely is pointless.
